I can't help it--my favorite is that beautiful flashing Rajastani/banjara style, covered in shisha mirrors and bright colors.
I was in London last summer and I went to Trafalgar square where an Indian dance and music event was going on. All these girls were covered in shishas, so beautiful flashing in the London sunlight. I was mesmerized. Immediatly an Indian man joined my mother and I and we discussed how wonderful Indian clothing is. This was just after viewing traditional indian storytelling dance inside one of the big museums there, and afterward we ventured to the Camden Markets where many vendors offer beautiful (however overpriced) wares from all over the country, with a noticable leaning towards India.
London is a good place for lovers of Indian aesthetics.

Re: Your Favorite Indian Clothing
Tue, July 12, 2005 - 5:28 AMwow. I don't think I can pick one style of Indian clothing to be my favorite. I love shisha's but then again I love plain silk or cotton of sari's/Kameez's too. Maybe its the colors of the Indian clothing. Everything is such a rich and vibrant shade. I just love it all!! -

Re: Your Favorite Indian Clothing
Tue, July 12, 2005 - 7:51 AMI love EVERY style of indian clothing, but my favorite is Kancheepuram (gold jari silk saris from Tamil Nadu, used in Bharatha Natyam dance). But then, there's zardozi, banjara, block prints, chikam, batik... too many choices... The variety is overwhelming...
