I have a beautiful new salwar set and the pants are too long! I'd normally cuff them, but they have this gorgeous crystal design on the bottom.

Is there any way I can save the design on the bottom and shorten them? Thanks!

I dont think u can adjust in the bottom.. since they are nice design with crystal in bottom...
What u can do to fix it.. the salwar pants normaly attach on waist belt.. u should open the stich from waist belt...and cut extra length from uper side.. now it will shorten ur crotch area too.. so u need to adjust ur crotch also.. i hope u can do the croatch if u cant fix the crotch area let me know i can help u ..

How extra long are they and how long is the design? I think you might be able to at the hem line go wrong side to wrong side then flip it up to form a hem area.....gosh hard to explain but if the design is not too large just flip it inside then outside and hem up....worth a shot.

I think I know what you're talking about, but the top part of the pants is elastic with a hook on the side. The design on the bottom meets the hem completely. I might look at it further and see if I can do something like you suggested, thanks!

I think what Ajay means is that the gathers/pleats of the salwar are usually attached to the lower edge of the waistband (not the top part where the elastic is.) You would have to take out that lower seam all the way around and undo the gathers. Then you would cut off some of the top portions of each leg, recut the crotch and then sew everything back together.
