The original link to India Bazaar's sari videos has had more videos added since it was originally posted, so it is not easy to find the two videos on how to wrap a sari. To make it easier to find them, since they are such useful videos, I am posting direct links to the YouTube videos so they can be found easily.

This prevents the sari from coming apart if you step on the hem, or are very active. 3 or 4 safety pins are to be used while putting on a sari, according to my friend in India.

One helpful hint is this: once you make your front pleats and have them nice and even, take a big safety pin and pin them all together near the top of the bunch. Then tuck them into your waist. This will save you if you accidentally step on your hem. And for those of you who don't like to refold your pleats every time, simply leave them pinned and they'll be ready to go next time, almost like the automatic saree.

Thank you so much for posting these 2 videos on wrapping a sari. I have been hoping instructions on how to wear a sari would come along on this tribe!

I bought two very fine silk saris when I was in India last year. A friend there taught me how to wear the sari, but when I got home I wasn't very good at it. Trying to remember how to wrap and pleat properly took too long, and so I haven't been wearing them. Now the next time I am attending an occasion in which I can dress up, I will be able to wear one of my saris.

I love wearing Indian clothes, the materials are so beautiful. And very comfortable. Thank you!
