Is there any way I can save the design on the bottom and shorten them? Thanks!

Plain black sari for wedding

One would think it would be easy to find, but I'm having trouble! I found the perfect one (black, with little black beads on the edge) but the woman who sells it will not repsond...

So what I need is a very, very, very simple black sari. It is for a wedding (i know it's odd, but it's the bride's request) so it should not have any metalic zari of sequins or different colors, so I don't detract from the bride. If there are designs on it, they should be black also. I am meant to wear a red choli with it.

Help? Do these exist? I offered just to get 7 years of silk, but she didn't like that idea...

Thank You Ajay!!

I got my package from Ajay yesterday. I would have posted this last night but the internet was not being friendly to me. :)
A little background just so you all know how much this means to me...
Ajay and I had been trying to get my order sorted for a salwar kameez for some time but there were a lot of problems (on my side not his) with payment transaction from Turkey, etc. Finally, we got it worked out then I kept going back and forth on what style I wanted, which color...if I wanted a salwar kameez or a chuirridar kameez (I am sorry, I know I spelled the last one wrong, Ajay!). The drama goes on and on.
The whole time, Ajay was being sssoooo patient and friendly. Walking me through my first purchase of an authenic Indian outfit.
Finally, I chose a dark orange and red churridar kameez. Ajay had it made and then emailed me to let me know that they had discovered a small stain on it that could not be removed therefore, they were making me another one for free in additional to the original one.
I really appreciated his honesty because when I got the package, I looked all over the first outfit and I never found the stain. I have no idea where it is so Ajay could have easily just sent it to me and I would have never known. However, he was honest enough to point out what he saw and generous enough to send that second outfit free of charge! Not to mention a package of bindi to complete the outfit. :)
I fell in love with both outfits as they are GORGEOUS! The colors are so beautiful (the second outfit is red with silver embroidery) and they both fit so well and the colors are exactly right for me. The quality of the work is fabulous and they are very detailed.
I can't wait to wear them and I will be sure to post some pictures of Ajay's beautiful outfits soon.
Thank you so much, Ajay!
You gave me an excellent taste of how beautiful Indian clothes can be and I am most definitely going to order more from you down the road. Hopefully with less drama this time around. :-D
As usual, Ajay has done it again!

Package from Ajay!

Hello all,
I just want to say what a joy it is to get a package in the mail from Ajay. This is my second time ordering custom-made salwar kameez from him. The first time, I sent my measurements and he sent me a salwar kameez to those *exact* specifications, really showing some seamster skills. I was quite impressed, but had to adjust the kameez a little because I like my clothes loose. The second time, armed with this information and a couple extra measurements, he made my salwar kameez absolutely perfect. Ajay is a pleasure to communicate with. He's sincere and eager to please. He treats me like a sister. When he couldn't make the patiala-style salwar I wanted because there wasn't enough of the fabric, he made it regular style but made me an extra patiala in a color that matched both kameez, free of charge, that is absolutely fabulous, with close to 30 pleats! (Check my profile soon for pictures). But the joy of opening his packages comes from seeing the extra details I wasn't expecting: the nice decoration on the cuffs of the salwar, the string of seed beads on the dupatta, and the little free gifts that arrive amid the folds of clothes: a couple packages of bindis, a Hindi greeting card, a Hanuman poster! I highly recommend Ajay to all of you. Tell him what you want and how you want it, and he will make you very happy. Many blessings to you and your family, Ajay.

Having done business with IndiaBazaar.net...

I have known Ajay for probably about 3 years now. I first went to him to create a very unique bellydance outfit for a very unique bodypainted panda look. I felt like a goddess at the competition I wore this for and many people asked where it came from. He custom fit and custom designed my competition outfit exactly to the way that it looked in my concept drawing, including hand embroidered designs on the panel skirt.

His business had something different to offer and even really strong bindi's (the ones that last longer than most $8 bindis sold in the states). My closet looks more complete now that I have hand tie-dyed salwar kameenez, fine silk scarves, a pair of harem pants and even a quite comfortable nightgown. None of those items every disappointed me. I would say that I save a good portion of money any chance I get and order at least 2 outfits from him. He has many educational texts and great DVDs that have introduced me to new artists in Bollywood.

I have another outfit that I need made that is not belly dance related nor is it really related to Indian clothing. Still, he has the power to do it and I have full confidence that this will be yet another successful outfit for a performance of mine. Thanks Ajay!

I saw Bride and Prejudice was on the other weekend and just had to watch it. My husband joined me and we watched in silence for awhile. After it was over, I asked him what he thought. He said he thought it was a cute story, reminiscent of the big budget musicals that used to be done in Hollywood several decades ago.

When I looked at him in surprise, he thought about it a moment and then sighed...you watched it for the costumes didn't you? I replied, well yeah! But the storyline was entertaining too. lol

I have been searching for what seems all corners of the internet for just pyjama pants. No one seems to sell them as separate items, but rather as part of a salwar kameez outfit. Does anyone know of a source where I can get the traditional (pantaloon, drawstring style) pyjama pants? Thanks in advance for any advice.

What is Salwar Kameez

What is Salwar Kameez
Salwar kameez is the traditional dress worn by various peoples of South Asia. Salwar are loose trousers and the kameez is a long shirt.
It is the usual everyday dress for women in India where it may be transliterated into English as shalwar qamiz. It is also popular in European and American countries and often worn in Rest of world. Some versions are sometimes called a Punjabi suit, after the Indus valley area called the Punjab. In Gujarat it is usually called a Zabho.

Salwar kameez:
1922 Salwars are loose pajama-like trousers. The legs are wide at the top, and narrow at the bottom. The legs are pleated or gathered into a waistband with a drawstring. The pants can be wide and baggy, or they can be cut quite narrow, on the bias. In the latter case, they are known as churidar.
The kameez is a long shirt or tunic. The side seams (known as the chaak) are left open below the navel, which gives the wearer greater freedom of movement. The kameez is usually cut straight and flat; older kameez use traditional cuts, as shown in the illustration; modern kameez are more likely to have European-inspired set-in sleeves. The tailor's taste and skill are usually displayed not in the overall cut, but in the shape of the neckline and the decoration of the kameez.
When women wear the salwar kameez, they usually wear a long scarf or shawl called a dupatta around the head or neck. For Muslim women, the dupatta is a less stringent alternative to the chador or burqa (see hijab). For Hindu women (especially those from northern India, where the salwar kameez is most popular), the dupatta is useful when the head must be covered, as in a temple or the presence of elders. For other women, the dupatta is simply a stylish accessory that can be worn over one shoulder or draped around the chest and over both shoulders.
Purchasing or sewing salwar kameez

Khadi Cotton
Khadi is Indian handspun and hand-woven cloth. The raw materials coton which are spun into threads on a spinning wheel called a charkha. The spinning of khadi was Mahatma Gandhi's main means of providing self-employment to the rural populace of India. He also wanted to spread the message of not using foreign clothes. The freedom struggle revolved around the use of Khadi fabrics and the dumping of foreign-made clothes. Thus it symbolized the political ideas and independence itself, and to this day most politicians in India are seen only in khadi clothing. The Indian Flag is allowed to be made only from this material. Khadi was used, and dyed random colors, in some of the costumes for the Star Wars prequels. Khadi material, being a more crude form of material, crumples much faster than other clothes made from cotton. In order to improve the look, khadi is often starched to have a stiffer shape. Better uses In Kurta for men and women. Mostly recommended to wear in summer. Cool Fabric. Hand Washable 3% Shrink in First wash "

Hello Friends, my name is Judy... I just wanted to introduce myself to the Tribe and ask for your recommendations regarding websites where I can purchase a really dazzling belly-dance costume, in silk or satin, perhaps with some embroidery. I’m not sure, but I think it may be referred to as “american tribal” or “gypsy tribal” style. As you can tell, I’ve only had a few classes and have a lot to learn about bellydancing, but I think the costumes, the kuchi jewlry, and the dance rythms are fantastic:) Also would appreciate recommendations on sources for good Arabic and Indian music websites where I could listen to the music before I buy. Its funny, I purchase clothing at wholesale everyday for my living, but have no idea where to buy belly-dance outfits:)

I must say though, everything is perfect! You guys are amazing with the embroidery! IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!! I can hardly wait to wear it. I having it professionally pressed first. I already have orange and gold sandals to match. It is cute; a orange and gold choker. Just wanted you to know that I am truly satisfied with you and your people work. (Smiling) Thanks for everything Ajay! Keep up the good work! Oh I almost forgot. There was a lady here from India too. She was selling silk Indian outfits, but none of them had embroidery.

Hey there

I actually went through with it and participated in my first bellydance competition. I really enjoyed myself and the outfit made me feel special. The embroidery was admired by all backstage. Hopefully I suceeded in spreading the India Bazaar business to all of those that thought the oufit looked good.

For dancing you really took the time to understand comfort. I did not feel at risk of ripping a seam, sweating like a pig or feeling constricted in my undulation movements.

The outfit worked like a dream. Please enjoy the pictures I posted to the tribe. I have more but I did not want to spam the group.

indian items for sale-closet clean out

Sorry for the cross posting, but I'm selling a few Indian items that I thought folks here might be interested in.

I’ve been doing a bit of cleaning out of my closets and decided to see if folks might be interested in giving some of my stuff a better home. Some of these things I have never worn, so I thought - why not go ahead and make some more closet space.

Pictures of all the items that I’m selling are in my photos of my profile. The thumbnails are a bit pixilated, but if you click onto the image itself, it is fairly clear. I’ve got an excellent rating on e-bay (please feel free to look up my rating – I’m Scarletneefa on e-bay) but decided that folks here might want “first dibs” on some of these items.

Prices don’t include shipping or insurance, but we can figure that out. I won’t charge anyone more than what it will really take to get the item to you. Please message me if you are interested in any of the following.
Thanks for looking,
Neefa

For sale:

Paisley halter top-$10.00. It seems to be made from an old sari. I’ve never worn it, but used it to make a pattern from. It would be great for dancing in. It ties around the neck and around the chest, so it’s somewhat adjustable. It would fit a B or C cup.

Japanese silk kimono-$30.00. This is a vintage kimono (pre WWII - you can tell by the longer square sleeves). I’ve never worn it, but it does a small stain about the size of a quarter on the front chest area. It is still very wearable and the stain does not show very much at all. It may be a water stain or a stain from it being starched, but I don’t know and did what to attempt to clean it. The kimono is 51”/129cm from sleeve to sleeve and is 56 1/2” / 144cm long. The sash in the picture is not included.

Indian Necklace and Earring set - $70.00. This is a sterling silver set that has been plated in 18k gold. It looks just like the solid 18k gold pieces but at a fraction of the price. It is so much more beautiful than the photos. The gold work is very open with lots of Indian style filigree and has maroon enamel work on it with a touch of subtle forest green. It has a few cut glass clear stones and glass peals. The necklace has a gold cord which slides to fit your neck. The earrings are for pierced ears.

Choli Lengha 3 piece set- $75.00. This set includes a choli (top), Lengha (skirt), and dupata (scarf) from Rajastan, India. All three pieces are in a wonderful sunset orange and deep red color with bandhani print on them. All three pieces are covered in beautiful gold chain stitching all the edges, which are accented with silver sequins and glass beads. The choli and the lengha are pure silk satin with a lining of cotton and have a nice and heavy drape. I believe the dupata is synthetic. The choli is 15”/38.5 from the neckline to the bottom. The sleeve is 8” / 20.5 cm long. I have a 36B chest. The lengha is 38” /97cm long. The dupata is 42”/ 107cm wide and 89” long. I have never worn this outfit as I have others that I love more than this one.

Sterling silver pearl and garnet earings-$35.00 These were made by my own hands. All the metal and silver beads are sterling silver. The beads are genuine freshwater pearls and real garnets. I’ve never worn them, I made them to sell. I always thought that they looked very regal.

3 Afghani Kuchi Rings – You get all three of them for only $5.00. I can’t tell what size they are, but they don’t fall off my hands. I can’t wear them and dance because I trade off from dancing and drumming and I can’t wear them and drum at the same time.

So I finally got my memory stick adapter working and can upload the pictures of me and my husband wearing our clothes Ajay made for us. Everything fit great. My blouse was loose but I think I lost weight in the time from order to shipment. So no fault but my own.

I did have a question as to washing the sari. Hand wash and hang dry? Also was the petticoat prewashed? The color bled onto me. I was very hot at the wedding and sweated a bit.

I am happy to report I saw belly dancing out fits put to use at the wedding. Horray for SCA weddings, acting troupes and bellydancing durring supper!

I love my silk skirts! I want so many more! There really is no feeling like layers of silk flowing around you while you dance!

For belly dance it is best to have them be slightly loose so that the waist falls just below the bellybutton.

The Cholis are great as well. Be very specific with your measurements as Ajay makes his clothes EXACTLY as you request them. He is a very good tailor and designer and I will order again when I can splurge!
Cleaning question

I have a large number of fabric remnants from salvaged silk sari's. I had the intention of someday making a quilt out of them. Most of these are silk fabric with the heavy metallic embroidery from the edge border or pallu of antique sari's. Can anyone tell me how to safely clean these fabrics without harming the fragile silk or discoloring the metal threadwork?
I'd like to clean up and press these pieces before putting them back into storage until I can get to sewing them.
Thank you,
Tracey

Kaal Kapaal Mahakaal

Kaal Kapaal Mahakaal

This is Indian TV serial..you may very much intrested to know about it.. i dont know how can i translate that words in english..

Kaal: its could be dangerous thing.. or if you know about kali.. its also come from .. kali word.. or most dangerous time..

Kapaal: this is your head.. this is main thing to use for any kind of black magic.. that is why in hindu.. mostly recommended.. always crash kapaal when u burn dead body.. even family who cant afford funreal and give body in river.. they break it with stone.. its very dangerous.. if you leave to crash it..it could used by aogar.. or any black magician.. and soul will always controled by him.. as i was hearing news yesterday.. its came in head lines.. some where in world.. 800 thousand year old kapaal is found.. so you know its not gone until u crash it...

Mahakaal : is word from kaal.. with more powerful name of kaal..(maha means mega)

Now i m sharing with you one eppisode.. of this series.. all are real stories.. which shown as current.. in india...

1. In UP (uttar pradesh) in india.. one rural area.. have one majaar.. muslim.. grav.. this majaar (temple) is older then 1000 yrs.. this was majaar of one muslim baba who came from afganistan.. in india.. he was helping to peoples who have problem with any bad soul or spirit.. if any vodoo cant help them.. they have to come there.. and they will be perfect in few days.. if you go there.. u can find many MAD peoples.. who are under control by bad soul.. they will be perfect in few week or days.. when they come.. in majaar area..they get more powerful and run from here to there.. they beat themself with wall.. they run over trea and jump from there.. they can do any thing.. but they dont get hurt...

its mean.. the bad soul is got on right place.. where she can get mukti.. i will tell u later what is mean of mukti..and baba majaar want them. to go away from body of person.. so bad soul active like this.. .. now the reason why bad soul try to do this...as per rules of majaar.. if person..wont get well.. later and later.. he will hung to death.. its mean mukti.. mukti mean soul get death punishment.. and now she is free mukti mean freedom... its mean.. bad soul is free from her life.. and now she can go in new circle of life.. that is why all bad soul dont want to run from there.. but baba majaar dont want to punish any one hang to death as person.. so last chance..they do mukti...but bad soul never get happy there.. baba majaar power press them to leave human body and run from there...but she need mukti...

you dont belive it.. i bet you wont..know some questions.. which can make you belive.. as time of baba before 1000 yrs.. he was going back to his country.. becuase he want to go his mother land.. and die there.. and have majaar there.. but indian ask him to stay there.. and they will make his majaar there...but baba says.. if i will stay there. all bad sprits will come to me.. and snakes.. and Bichoo ( i dont know what to call in english = its black.. with tail.. who bite you with tail very poision like cobra.. we call in hindi.. Bichoo)..

pepoles ask no mater what they want him always here to help them.. so baba promise them ok. snakes and bichoo come to me.. also bad soul.. but i promise they wont hurt any one...

now u can see.. there is tons of black cobra.. they dont bite you.. thousand of peopels coming there.. from all part of world.. you can see cobra.. and bichoo all over.. they wont bite you.. if you tocuh them.. your many problems will go.. its shown on TV how peoples feel free to take them in hand.. belive me or not.. its shown family give bichoo and cobra in hand to all family.. also few months.. babies.. its shown.. look how this one year old kid of family is playing with bichoo.. if hi bite him...he will die in one second..but family dont care.. becuase pepoles know..he wont hurt.. him.. now the press reporter took bichoo on his hand and jump from his one hand to second hand.. to make him angree.. but nothing happen.. he was quite playing like kid...

still not belive.. i know you think.. its pet of majaar.. offcourse not.. feel free to leave your cobra or bichoo there.. its shown how strange peoples bring cobra and leave there...you dont need even permission of managment..if you got black cobra.. or bichoo in your house (which is very usual in india.. i hardly belive any house never got cobra.. and bichoo in house..in life time..) so if they catch them. they are free to leave in majaar there..

you still dont belive.. LOL bring cobra with you.. and open in majaar..and play with him...you wont be dare to do that.. i know it can scare to death any one to do that.. but you wont scared.. once u will get there.. u will belive.. they wont hurts you...so if power of baba majaar can control.. real alive cobra and bichoo why not bad soul....

many questions in your mind.. but you have to belive otherwise answer the questions..
1. why black cobra dont bite any one
2. why bichoo dont bite any one ..
3. why person who are in control of bad soul.. hurt himself but not others..
4. why that person get well in few week...

if you enjoy.. i will post another eppisode..of Kaal kapaal mahakaal..

but for that i need your replies.. LOL you dont reply here.. your reply can share you many things from india.. you cant even dream and u can never read from any where..
how to wrap dhoti

How to wear a dhoti:
The dhoti is one long piece of cloth. Start by folding it in half so that it is half its original length.
Drape the dhoti behind you. The stripe should be vertical and held at the top by the left hand. The top of the folded side should be in your right hand and the dhoti should drape almost to the ground behind your heels.
Bring together in front of you the folded side in your right hand to meet the stripe side in your left hand.
Hold both the folded and stripe side in your left hand and bring them at even tension directly to your left side, keeping the bottom of the dhoti level and near the ground.
Hold the stripe side in your left hand as you accordion fold the fold side with your right hand until it is even horizontally with your left leg.
There should now be a folded bunch in your right hand. Slightly lift this bunch in your right hand as you bring the stripe side over it to your right side. The dhoti is now wrapped around you. What is left is adjusting the tightness and rolling it down to hold the tension in place.
Take the bunch in your right hand twist it slightly together and to the left and slip the top side of the dhoti just over the bunch to hold it in place.
Even up the stripe side so that the stripe is vertical and the dhoti drapes level just above the floor.
Roll the top of the dhoti down to a comfortable waist level, somewhere below the belly button.
Tips for comfort and convenience:
Dhotis do not have pockets, but they do have a roll at the waistline. It is possible to carry small items such as keys, cash, and some IDs by placing them in the roll. With some practice your items will be secure and easily accessible.
Be careful going up steps. It is easy to step on the dhoti, especially the left side (which is accordion folded). Lifting the bunched accordion fold higher before rolling helps alleviate this problem.
Silk dhotis do stay on. I was surprised because I thought their slipperiness would make them slip right off. I've danced the night away in a silk dhoti with no problem.
You do not need to wear undergarments with your dhoti, but be aware the fabric is thin, especially in the back. Wearing your white dhoti in the rain might be more interesting than you anticipated.
Wind can blow open dhotis and when you sit down the dhoti may come slightly apart. The more you overlap the fabric in the middle the less of a problem this is.
When you order a dhoti you will probably have to trim off the end. If there is a seemingly useless strip of cloth attached by threads to either end of your dhoti cut it off. This is just to keep the dhoti from fraying until it is sold.
Dhotis do stop fraying naturally. They do not just come apart after some time.
Dhotis are traditionally worn very near the ground, almost touching. If you plan on dancing in your dhoti, wrap it a little higher to keep it from being stepped on.
Fold the dhoti in half before drying it and make sure the stripes line up. When you take it out of the dryer it should still be folded in half with the stipes lined up. This is important for making sure the dhoti stays together well when it is wrapped

It is more beautiful than the pictures let on. I really like it, and the workman ship is better than I could have expected.
While I was hoping for a color more red than orange, I found it very flattering!
I will take pictures this week to post here for all to see!

My gorgeous indian red sari curtains.......

Hello All, Ajay made me the most beautiful silk sari curtains with real gold zari print on the bottom. I love the curtains so much that Iam having deep purple colored silk sari curtains with real gold zari print on the bottom made for my bedroom. The red ones Ajay made for me are in my living room and I took some pictures of the curtains. So when I develope the film I will have pictures to share with the group. The sari curtains are a very rich quality and Ajay is a master with fabrics. I personally recommend that everyone order some sari curtains for their home and/or office. I plan to decorate my entire home in indian decor and as I do bit by bit I will take pictures to share with everyone. I hope everyone is doing great out there in the world. Lot's of love to all of you! Sincerely, Kimji

Loyalty of Boss

Scientists at the Rocket launching station in Thumba, were in the habit
of working for nearly 12 to 18 hours a day. There were about Seventy such
scientists working on a project. All the scientists were really
frustrated due to the pressure of work and the demands of their boss but everyone

was loyal to him and did not think of quitting the job.
One day, one scientist came to his boss and told him - Sir, I have
promised to my children that I will take them to the exhibition going on in our
township. So I want to leave the office at 5 30 pm.

His boss replied - O K, , You are permitted to leave the office early
today. The Scientist started working. He continued his work after lunch. As
usual
he got involved to such an extent that he looked at his watch when he
felt he was close to completion. The time was 8.30 p.m.
Suddenly he remembered of the promise he had given to his children. He
looked for his boss, He was not there. Having told him in the morning
itself, he closed everything and left for home.
Deep within himself, he was feeling guilty for having disappointed his
children.
He reached home. Children were not there. His wife alone was sitting in
the hall and reading magazines. The situation was explosive, any talk would
boomerang on him.His wife asked him - Would you like to have coffee or shall I straight
away serve dinner if you are hungry.
The man replied - If you would like to have coffee, I too will have but
what about Children???
Wife replied- You don't know - Your manager came at 5 15 p.m. and has
taken the children to the exhibition.
What had really happened was
The boss who granted him permission was observing him working seriously
at 5.00 p.m. He thought to himself, this person will not leave the work,
but if he has promised his children they should enjoy the visit to exhibition.
So he took the lead in taking them to exhibition
The boss does not have to do it every time. But once it is done,
loyalty is established.
That is why all the scientists at Thumba continued to work under their
boss even though the stress was tremendous.
By the way , can you hazard a guess as to who the boss was????????

He was A P J Abdul Kalam.
(President of India)

Regards
Ajay

Help me buy my first Salwar Kameez??

Hello you all,
I dont know how it took me so long to find this tribe! I have been in love with Indian clothes and the culture in general for as long as I can remember.
I have never bought any Indian clothes for myself though. I guess I was never sure if an non-Indian should wear those beautiful clothes. Kind of silly to think that though...so, I have been reading through some of your posts and was wondering if you all could give me some advice? ;)
I would like to start out with a Salwar Kameez...perhaps a shorter style? I have a baby at home and therefore would like one that is more *practical*. Say, in cotton or a fabric that can easily be worn during the daytime, even with jeans sometimes.
I am 5-3 in and probably around 115 lbs (52kg) or close to that. I want to keep in mind that I have a bit of *baby* weight to lose still so nothing too fitted just yet but still in a flattering cut.
Any suggestions, you guys?
Many thanks!

Question about hair tassel???

I LOVE these things.....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5011492358&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1

I wear them around my waist and wrapped around buns to hang down my back in tribal costuming, however I understand that traditionally they are made to be braided into the hair and the tassel dangles from the end of the braid. How would you go about doing this the correct way? What are other traditonal uses for these? And is there an outlet or website that offers these inexpensively? Thank you so much for the help!!

I just received my wedding choli that Ajay made, and it is of such superior quality and fit, that I had to say something! Of course I was curious, since I had to measure myself and send it to him, but he got that choli to fit me like he was right here! It was amazing. I can't wait to wearit, and it's so cool, I'll be able to wear it with jeans this summer. Thanks Ajay!!!

Halter Choli Question

I have desing Halter choli.. in diffrent way with request of coustomer

Mostly halter choli have one single peace in front with 3 strings on back.. and two strings for neckline.. but as i requested by customer.. she wants to look more like choli blouse in front.. so i have to design the front part in two peaces.. like sari blouse.. its give better look with bust part and i used one long string.. in back instead of three strings.. so she can just pull long strings and tie it.. i have posted picture in photo section... i want to ask your opinion.. what do you think about this altreation on halter choli.....please suggest
Ajay

Your Favorite Indian Clothing

I can't help it--my favorite is that beautiful flashing Rajastani/banjara style, covered in shisha mirrors and bright colors.

I was in London last summer and I went to Trafalgar square where an Indian dance and music event was going on. All these girls were covered in shishas, so beautiful flashing in the London sunlight. I was mesmerized. Immediatly an Indian man joined my mother and I and we discussed how wonderful Indian clothing is. This was just after viewing traditional indian storytelling dance inside one of the big museums there, and afterward we ventured to the Camden Markets where many vendors offer beautiful (however overpriced) wares from all over the country, with a noticable leaning towards India.

London is a good place for lovers of Indian aesthetics.
